IBPS Clerk is one of the most famous banking exams in India which is conducted by Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) to fill the vacancies for Clerical Cadre in various participating national banks. IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria

You must be 20-28 years old & must hold a minimum qualification of Bachelor’s from a recognized university and must not hold any criminal record while applying for IBPS Clerk Exam.

IBPS Clerk Qualification Criteria -

A candidate must possess a minimum qualification of Graduation from a recognized University/Institute in any discipline

• Graduation Final Years Mark-sheet - The candidate must pass & possess valid graduation Mark-sheet on the day he / she registers.
• Computer Literacy - Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have any Certificate or Diploma or Degree in computer operations.
• Proficiency in Local Language - Candidates should also be proficient in the language of the state from which they are applying. This means that the candidates should know how to read, write and speak the official language of the state of union territory from which they are applying.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit Criteria –

• Minimum Age Limit: 20 years
• Maximum Age Limit: 28 years

IBPS Clerk Selection Process & Exam Pattern

IBPS conducts exams for post of Clerical Cadre in two different stages: Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. The candidates are required to qualify both the stages to be listed in the merit list prepared after conduction of both the exams. Let's have a look at the detailed Exam Pattern for IBPS Clerk. • Candidates first have to apply for the post through the online portal.
• They then have to appear for a Preliminary examination.
• On the basis of results of this Exam, candidates are selected for the Mains exam.
• Candidates who pass the Mains exam and successfully meet the cut off become eligible for recruitment.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk prelim exam is an online exam that tests you on the basis of your aptitude, intellect and English. There are three sections in total and you must clear the IBPS Clerk Cut Off of each section to proceed to the mains exam round. You are required to solve the question paper in the time frame of 1 hour. The composite mark of the paper is 100 and the passing marks is decided by IBPS that is likely to change every year depending on the level of difficulty of the exam.

You have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam constitute of 190 questions that needs to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes. Mains Exam are conducted bilingually, i.e. both in English and Hindi.

IBPS Clerk Marking Scheme

• IBPS Clerk has different marking scheme for prelims and main exam. However, negative marking of 0.25 of the allotted marks is applicable in both the exam.
• IBPS Clerk Preliminary question paper will be of 100 marks.
• Each question will carry one mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• IBPS Clerk Main question paper will be of 200 marks.
• Each question from General/ Financial Awareness, General English and Quantitative Aptitude sections will carry 1 mark while incorrect answer will cost you 0.25 marks.
• Each question from Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude section will be of 1.20 marks and 0.30 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in this section.
• Candidates will have to clear overall cutoff and sectional cutoff separately in both prelims and main exam.

Note -

• No Interview is conducted for final selection through IBPS Clerk.
• The marks in the mains examination is taken into consideration to draw out the final result of IBPS Clerk.
• A wrong answer to an objective question will lead to a penalty of one-fourth of the total mark assigned to that question.

IBPS Clerk Prelims & Mains Syllabus

The major three sections on which a candidate needs complete command are: Reasoning Quantitative Aptitude English Language. To crack IBPS Clerk it is very inevitable for you to become well-versed with the IBPS Clerk Syllabus & Exam Pattern. You need to master are Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English Language. The section of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning is same in both Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. The only difference is that the Mains Exam of IBPS Clerk Exam has an additional section of Computer Knowledge and General Awareness. You are also required to be master in Computer and must have General Awareness knowledge specifically in the field of Banking. This is to keep in mind that the difficulty level of main exam will be higher than IBPS clerk prelims exam.

IBPS Clerk Salary Structure

The salary of a Clerk in a Public Sector Bank is Rs.18000 to Rs.21000 during the training period. After training period is over, multiple perks and emoluments are added. All these perks and emoluments differ from bank to bank

Type of allowances of IBPS Clerk Salary are listed below:

• Dearness allowance (DA)- It is 4% of basic pay and is revised quarterly for every 3 months. It is based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) as declared by the banks.
• Home Rent Allowance (HRA) – Its is 7-9 % of the basic pay. It varies as per the location cities
• Special Allowance – 5 % With completion of one year service, an increment of Rs 400/- and Rs 500/- is given in the second year.
• Travel Allowance (TA) – It is Rs 425
  

Note : Medical Allowance for IBPS Clerks, the amount is fixed at Rs 2000. It is paid once a year.

Steps to Apply IBPS Clerk Exam

IBPS Clerk Application forms are available on the official website - www.ibps.in. Candidates must pay the application fee and take a printout of the application form for future use. A registration confirmation SMS/e-mail is delivered to them. The procedure for filling IBPS Clerk exam form involves ten steps:

• Step-1: Candidates are required to visit the official link first. By clicking on the link, candidates will land on the application form page.
• Step-2: Candidates will have to click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION”. After clicking on this link, you will be landed on the Instruction Page.
• Step-3: Here Read all the Instructions carefully and click on the 'Continue' button. The application form will appear on the screen.
• Step-4: Enter all the relevant information whichever asked in the online application.
• Step-5: Fill up the required information accurately and continue by clicking on 'Save & Next' button.
• Step-6: Now in the next step, the candidates will be required to upload the scanned photo and signature as per the given dimensions. Click on the 'Next' button now!
• Step-7: Now the next button will take you to another page of IBPS Clerk online application form. Here you'll have to enter the complete academic details asked by the authorities. Fill up the details appropriately and choose the order of bank preferences wisely and then proceed further by clicking on 'Save & Next' button.
• Step-8: Now you can preview the complete form once again, so that if you have to make any changes or editing in the application form, you can do it now. Because, once you click on the submit button, you will not be able to make any changes in the IBPS Clerk Online Application.
• Step-9: Payment Procedure – The candidates are required to pay the application fee in Online Mode only. Application Fee – INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates and INR 850 /- for all others.
• Step-10: Click on Submit Button. As soon as you submit the online application, A registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.

IBPS Clerk Admit Card

You are required to download IBPS Clerk Admit Card from the official website of IBPS website i.e www.ibps.in because the hard copy of the admit card won’t be sent to the applicants via post.
