What is nda exam pattern?

As you know that nda written exam includes questions from the subjects of maths, english & general knowledge. 120 questions of maths, 50 question of english & 100 questions of general knowledge are asked in nda exam. So for you, some of the important key points related to nda exam pattern are mentioned below.

• There are two papers taken same day back to back in two shifts.
• Allocated time is 2½ hours for each paper. Total marks are 900.
• 1st Paper is Maths comprises of 120 questions of Class XI & XII.
• 2nd Paper is GAT comprises of 150 questions of English & GK.
• One third marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Students have to pass in both papers Maths & GAT individually.

Is nda exam tough to crack?

No, not at all. But nda preparation needs a balance in study. Being a science student or a commerce student or a humanities student, what you require to do & take care of things; mentioned below.

• For Science medical students – If your aim is to join nda after 12th, so being a science medical student, you must study gk & maths papers along with your pcb subjects in +2 standard.
• For Science non-medical students – If you are a non-medical student, it means you are studying pcm in your +2 class. Besides 11th & 12th maths, you should study gk along with your +2.
• For Commerce students – If you are studying commerce, then you must opt +2 maths as a subject in 11th & 12th classes. Also you must study gk with other subjects
• For Humanities / Arts students – If you are studying arts in your +2 standard, then you must study maths of standard 11th & 12th during +2 preparation. You know that in nda exam, questions of +2 maths standard will be asked.

How much time is required to prepare for nda?

The successful preparation of nda exam depends on your preparedness of the subjects which are asked in nda written exam. As you know that in nda written exam, the questions from maths, english & general knowledge are asked. The maths questions are of +2 standard & gat (english & gk) questions are of up to 10th standard. Before starting the nda preparation, you must take assessment tests which are given below.

The above assessment can be taken by any of the students who are going to start nda preparation after 10th, 11th & 12th.

As you take the tests, you will able to check your preparedness. If you score 80% or above, four months of NDA preparation should be sufficient, provided you're either currently preparing for your 12th board exams or have already completed them. However, if your test scores fall below 80%, you may need to extend your preparation time accordingly. For students who have only completed the 10th grade, enrolling in an NDA foundation course is the best option to build a strong foundation for success. If you are a 10th passed student & wish to prepare nda after 10th, then it is recommended to do nda preparation for 2 years alongside your higher secondary education i.e. during 11 and 12 classes over a span of two years. For 11th passed students who are starting nda preparation at the time of 12th appearing, then he / she should do the nda preparation for 1 year along with class 12th. For 12th passed students, it is suggested to enroll in an nda online coaching program with duration of at least four months.
