What is SSC JE?

SSC Junior Engineer, in short it is called SSC JE, is one of the open competitive exams which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year to recruit eligible candidates in technical field on the post of Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Quantity Surveying and Contract department of government in India.

Those candidates who are aspiring to get an engineering job in a Government Organization; SSC JE offers a good opportunity for them. The selection process of SSC JE recruitment consists of Paper-1 & Paper-2. Only the candidates need to qualify the both papers as there is no interview conducted.

SSC JE Syllabus

The syllabus for SSC JE Exam covers major three sections:

SSC JE Exam Pattern

The Examination will consist of two Papers i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. Details of these Papers are as follows:

Note:

• There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I and one (01) mark for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
• In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per option given in the application form filled by the candidate.
• Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide-Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Tables and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I.

SSC JE Selection Process

• Step 1: Written examination or Paper 1 (Objective Type). The mode of exam is online comprises of 200 marks.
• Step 2: Written examination or Paper 2 is a conventional type for 300 marks. This exam will take place in online mode.
• Note: Please note that there will be no interview round. Selection will be based on the marks secured in the above two papers.

In case of Tie, steps mentioned below will be followed:

• Marks obtained in Paper-2
• Marks obtained in Paper-1
• Senior as per the date of birth (DOB)
• Alphabetical order in first names of the students

SSC JE Application Fee

• How to apply: Applications must be submitted only in online mode at ssc.gov.in only.
• Application Fee: Rs.100/-(Rupees One Hundred only):
